4. Stronger words without intensifier

For the purpose of better writing it is always advisable to avoid the adjective ‘very’ and and other such intensifiers like: – absolutely, amazingly, quickly, astonishingly, awfully, extremely etc. Instead it is preferable to use the appropriate one word. There are more than 180 such words listed in the following table. Words in Columns A,B,C with 'very' have the same meaning as the stronger words in the next column.
